Avoid These Foods when suffering from flu

Flu is a common disease during the rainy season or seasons transition. Although not a serious illness, flu symptoms very disturbing daily activities. If you want a speedy recovery, should avoid the following foods when flu.

1. Sweet foods
According to the book ‘Diets for Healthy Living: Dr. Linda Page’s Natural Solutions to America’s 10 Biggest Health Problems’, sugar prevents the body fight the bacteria that causes flu-like symptoms.

Eating foods high in sugar such as cakes, candy and cake to prevent the body cope with nasal congestion which is a common complaint when the flu. Sugar makes the mucus can survive long in the respiratory tract because the environment is warm and humid, thus providing a comfortable place for the virus.

Other foods that should rejected when the flu is a high-fat foods like french fries and fast food.

2. Milk
Milk can cause the mucus in the lungs and sinuses last longer. The virus grows in warm and moist environment provided by mucus, which can make it stay in the body longer and can also cause more severe flu symptoms.

Replace the milk with water or fresh fruit juice until your flu symptoms get well. Should also avoid all dairy products for several weeks after the flu recover. This will help the lungs heal perfectly.

3. Meat
Animal fats inhibit the body’s ability to get rid of the germs that cause flu symptoms, so that the flu will last longer or more severe symptoms.

Replace chicken and meat with plant foods, such as green salad that contains many antioxidants that can fight infection more quickly.
