World Health Organization of the United Nations (WHO) is optimistic, the new vaccine could meet the target of eradicating polio virus around the world before 2013. Thus expressed WHO’s spokesman in New York, United States, Wednesday (10/17).
WHO spokesman explained, the results of clinical trials of a vaccine developed by a combination of several British and Indian pharmaceutical companies managed to eradicate the polio virus. He explained, as published in the Lancet medical journal, the latest antidote immunization was more effective by 30 percent compared to previous vaccines.
Today, millions of children around the world vulnerable to attack the polio virus. Especially, in some developing countries, like India, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Nigeria. WHO has also urged the international community, to contribute extended assistance to support the alleviation of polio in 2012.
